Washing Windows
For washing windows, mix 1/4 cup (50 mL) corn starch with
4 cups (1 L) water. Apply solution with clean cloth, being sure
to keep water and corn starch well mixed. Wipe clean with
a paper towel, lint-free cloth or newspaper.
Greasy Spills
Pour corn starch on greasy spills on driveways, boats and garage
floors to make cleaning easier and prevent slipping. Sweep up
and discard. For greasy spills on counters, a damp sponge
sprinkled directly with corn starch works best.
Rugs & Carpets
To clean rugs and carpets, mix one part baking soda and
two parts corn starch. Sprinkle liberally and wait five minutes
before vacuuming thoroughly.
